Colin Powell's endorsement directly attacks the Ayers assault that McCain is playing. It says that a 4 star general, who is a lifelong republican is endorsing Obama, that Obama is a patriot and the best man for the job as President of the US.

McCain is now feeling the gut punch. I don't think he will recover from this, he was already way behind.
